The basis on which we provide our services · Last updated 30 August 2026

These terms explain the basis on which The National Drainage Company ("we", "us", "our") provides drainage services and on which this website is made available. Please read them alongside our Privacy Policy. Company registration number 17291611, registered office 71–75 Shelton Street, Covent Garden, London, WC2H 9JQ.

1. Our services

We provide domestic and commercial drainage services including drain unblocking, high-pressure jetting, CCTV drain surveys, drain repairs and no-dig relining, and related work, across the UK, 24 hours a day. Any description of our services on this website is for general information and does not form part of a contract until we have agreed the work with you.

2. Quotes and fixed pricing

We agree a clear, pre-agreed price with you before any work begins, based on the information you provide and, where needed, an initial inspection. If the nature or scope of the work changes once we are on site (for example we find a collapsed pipe or additional blockages), we will discuss this with you and agree any revised price before continuing.

3. Bookings and access

When you book, you confirm that you are able to authorise the work at the property, or have the permission of the person who can. You are responsible for providing safe and reasonable access to the drainage. If we cannot gain access or complete the work for reasons outside our control, we may charge for the time and resources committed, as agreed with you.

4. Payment

Payment is due on completion of the work unless we have agreed other terms in writing (for example a commercial account or contract). We will confirm the accepted payment methods when we agree the price. We may charge interest on overdue accounts as permitted by law.

5. Cancellations

You can cancel or rearrange a booking by contacting us as early as possible. For non-emergency and planned work you have the cancellation rights given to consumers by law. Where we have already begun work or committed resources at your request, we may charge for what has reasonably been done.

6. Your responsibilities

You agree to give us accurate information about the problem and the property, to tell us about anything that may affect safety (such as the location of services), and not to interfere with our equipment while work is in progress.

7. Guarantee and liability

We carry out our work with reasonable skill and care and confirm that a drain is flowing before we leave. If a blockage we cleared returns because the work was not carried out properly, we will return and put it right. Nothing in these terms limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot be limited by law. Subject to that, we are not liable for pre-existing defects we did not cause, or for indirect or consequential loss.

8. Complaints

If something is not right, please contact us at info@thenationaldrainagecompany.com and we will do our best to resolve it quickly and fairly.

9. Governing law

These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and any disputes are subject to the courts of England and Wales. If you live in Scotland or Northern Ireland, you may also bring proceedings in your local courts.

10. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. The version published on this page is the one that applies.
